MorphPackers and Energy Major sign Ultra-High Expansion R&D contract

Scotland's reputation for providing world-class R&D services to the oil and gas industry has been bolstered by the award of an R&D project studying ultra-high steel expansion to Morphpackers by a major operator in the Gulf of Mexico.

The R&D project will enable Morphpackers to address current knowledge and technology gaps and develop ultra-high steel expansion techniques by adapting its existing proprietary technology for the offshore marketplace.

“We are delighted to be partnering on this project especially as the investment creates high-value and highly-skilled positions in Scotland working directly in research and development.” said Toby Bryce, Director at MorphPackers.

“This is the largest R&D project Morphpackers has undertaken to date and we believe it will transform our current capabilities and services, creating solutions not available anywhere else in the world.” said Gavin Prise, Executive Chairman at MorphPackers.
